How we work on a typical client portfolio
You are making contact.
If you call our office, a qualified and experienced attorney will usually be able to speak with you right away. If not, we will call you back as soon as possible, usually the same day.
Initial discussion
We will discuss the matter over the phone to see if we can help you. It won't take long, and there is no obligation on your part to hire our services, but legally, we cannot provide legal advice until you become a client.

After the initial discussion, we will let you know if you are eligible to use our services as a client. At this stage, we can usually also give you an indication of the expected consulting costs.
Our offer
The next step is to send you our fee agreement. This agreement will confirm in writing the costs as agreed upon and detail the nature of the work requested, the agreed services, and how we will work with you.
Hiring our services
Once we have negotiated a fee agreement, we will begin work. This typically involves reviewing your documents and meeting with you to provide you with legal advice and practical guidance on the next steps.
The best result for you
As your case progresses, we will notify you of any unexpected changes, if any, so that there are no unexpected legal fees. We will draft all correspondence, handle any court proceedings, and negotiate a successful outcome on your behalf. In most cases, our service exceeds our clients’ expectations. So we are confident that you will be satisfied too. But if something does go wrong, you can be assured that we will do everything we can to fix it as quickly as possible.
Payment and collection options
At Kriel & Co., we are committed to exceptional customer service. This means being open and transparent about our charges and letting you know if they may exceed your estimate. Our accepted payment options are:
Pay when you walk out the door.
Many of our clients prefer to work with us on an hourly basis and we believe this is the fairest payment option, so you only pay for the hours actually worked. For this type of service, our standard hourly rate applies.
Mix Fix Fee
In some cases, we may also set a fee for our services in advance. Please note that in our pricing, we will take into account the likelihood of additional and unexpected work (which usually depends on the other party and their attorney) and offer you a fixed fee in advance.
For friendships in love - annual/monthly salary (retainer)
For a fixed monthly fee and at a particularly competitive price, we offer businesses unlimited legal advice as part of the annual or monthly retainer.
